Chapter 189: I Should At Least Be a Little Excited, Right?

River Sterling, however, kept him in suspense, winking at him. "You’ll find out when we go tomorrow."

"Go where?"

"Come on, I’ll pick you guys up tomorrow, and you’ll find out then." River Sterling pulled Linden Jennings toward the elevator. "Let’s go, let’s go."

...

「The President’s Office」

Chase Childs placed the top document on the desk and said, "President Quinn, this is the production report for A Lifetime of Splendor that you requested, including tomorrow’s filming schedule."

Seth Quinn remained leaning back in his chair. Annoyed by his thoughts of Clara Grant, he didn’t examine the document closely, merely glancing at it and humming softly, "Mm."

Seeing this reaction, Chase Childs couldn’t be sure what he was thinking, so he asked, "In that case, President Quinn, will you be going to the studio tomorrow?"

Chase had basically figured out President Quinn’s routine. No matter how busy he was, he’d make time to visit the studio every few days. It had been four days since his last visit, so he figured he was due for another one.

But to his surprise, Seth Quinn furrowed his brow and spat out two words in a curt tone, "Not going."

Chase Childs was taken aback for a moment before replying, "Oh, okay."

"Is there anything on the schedule for tomorrow?" Seth Quinn asked after a moment of thought.

Chase Childs opened the planner in his hand. Although tomorrow was Saturday, President Quinn often had things to do on the weekends. However, tomorrow’s schedule wasn’t too packed.

"Tomorrow morning, President Lowell of Apexion Corporation has scheduled a golf game with you. In the afternoon, the head of the Grant Group, Cedric Grant, has invited you to dinner."

As Chase Childs gave his report, Seth Quinn sat up straight, unable to resist flipping through the document about A Lifetime of Splendor in front of him.

He listened to Chase’s report as he read. These were prior engagements, so he nodded and said, "Mm, tell them I’ll make the appoint—"

The word died on his lips as his eyes landed on tomorrow’s filming schedule for A Lifetime of Splendor.

Chase Childs, who had been waiting to nod in agreement, looked at him in confusion when he stopped abruptly. "What is it, President Quinn?"

Seth Quinn’s eyes remained fixed on the page. After a few seconds of silence, he closed the document and said, "Reschedule my morning appointment with President Lowell to the afternoon. As for Cedric Grant’s, cancel it for now."

’Besides, Cedric Grant only wants to meet to plead on Chloe Grant’s behalf. If it weren’t for the fact that he saved my father’s life, and my father’s incessant nagging lately, I never would have agreed to see him in the first place.’

"Understood, President Quinn." Chase Childs nodded. He had already guessed what his boss was thinking but needed to confirm. "So, President Quinn, does this mean you’re going to the studio tomorrow?"

"Yes. Pick me up at six tomorrow morning."

"Understood."

...

Clara Grant spent the whole day on set, and her mood improved significantly. She realized she was growing to love acting more and more. As soon as she arrived on set, all her worries would simply vanish.

After they wrapped for the afternoon, Director Keane showed her the schedule and pointed out the scene she was to film tomorrow.

It was a kiss scene, where the character Tina musters up the courage to confess her feelings to the male lead before giving him a quick kiss on the lips.

Clara Grant’s first reaction was, ’This is a very simple scene. It’ll only take one short shot to complete.’

But then it hit her. ’Wait, this is my kiss scene with Miles! Even if it’s just a light peck, shouldn’t my heart be pounding? Shouldn’t I at least be a little excited?’
