After Giving Birth, All My Beast Ex-Husbands Suddenly Want Me Back

Chapter 293: Merfolk City

Chapter 293: Merfolk City

Sensing that things were taking a dangerous turn, Mino immediately tossed Shushu forward.

"Shushu, hurry—go! Don’t let your bad father succeed."

If this kept going, they’d have to start covering the children’s eyes.

Just as Yanai’s lips were about to meet Nina’s, Shushu suddenly darted between them and launched himself straight into Nina’s arms.

Blinking innocently with wide eyes, he chirped, Mother, I want to look at the flowers too.

Mino had suddenly thrown him out without warning just now, nearly scaring him to death.

Seriously, couldn’t he at least give a heads-up first?

Nina startled and immediately pushed Yanai away. The male nearly exploded with rage.

That little brat ruined things again.

He had almost kissed Nina just now.

Nina looked down at Shushu in her arms and laughed helplessly. "Where are your fathers?"

Without hesitation, Shushu pointed toward the nearby bushes, instantly selling out every single beast husband.

Nina walked toward the rustling grass. "You can all come out now."

The beast husbands emerged guiltily from the dense bushes one by one.

"...Nina, we came to look at the flowers too," Odian said, his gaze darting away awkwardly.

"Nina, we wanted to see flowers that only bloom at night too," Dian added while looking everywhere except at her.

Nina shook her head helplessly. "If you wanted to see them, you could’ve just said so. There was no need to sneak around hiding."

How could she possibly not understand what they were really thinking?

The beast husbands rubbed their noses awkwardly. "We understand."

Nina glanced at Yanai before speaking gently, "It’s getting late. We’ve already seen the flowers, so let’s all head back and sleep."

Yanai sighed inwardly, disappointment written all over him.

"...Alright."

Watching the beast husbands’ retreating figures, he silently clenched his jaw. As long as those jealous males were around, succeeding would be difficult.

Looks like he first needed to figure out a way to keep them occupied elsewhere.

Well... Next time, he would definitely succeed.

Thus, The Big Wolf Dog’s Second Bed-Climbing Plan officially ended in failure.

Several peaceful days passed afterward.

Odian finally completed preparations for the second teleportation array.

At the same time, Idir at long last finished kneeling through all of his durians.

Using the teleportation array, the group quickly arrived at Sea Blue City.

Rosen had received news of Nina’s arrival early that morning and had already been waiting at the city gates.

Lex and Dian led Nina and the others toward the entrance to Sea Blue City.

The moment Rosen saw Nina, she ran over and wrapped her in a tight embrace.

"Nina, you’re finally here! Mother missed you so much."

Nina smiled and hugged her back warmly. "I missed you too."

Rosen immediately took Nina’s hand. "Come on, I prepared a palace for you. See if you like it. If there’s anything you don’t like, tell Mother and I’ll change it immediately."

She led Nina toward an enormous, magnificent palace.

The stone used to build it was completely different from the ordinary stone houses found in most cities. The walls gleamed smooth and translucent, almost as though the entire structure had been crafted from enormous crystals. It looked breathtakingly luxurious.

The moment Linny saw the palace, his eyes widened dramatically.

Wow! He loved this giant sparkly house already.

Rosen pulled Nina inside.

The interior was even more extravagant. The walls were adorned with dazzling gemstones, luminous pearls, and colorful coral of every imaginable shape.

Linny’s eyes instantly lit up like stars. He flew straight into Nina’s arms, excitement practically overflowing from him.

Mother, can I go play around inside?

He absolutely adored this place.

Nina glanced toward Rosen, who laughed warmly.

"Nina, this palace was specially prepared for you. From now on, it belongs to you. Linny can play however he likes."

After returning home, she had personally ordered the palace built specifically for Nina. Every material used was the finest available, and she had hired countless beastfolk workers to rush construction so it would be finished before Nina arrived.

"But this is far too valuable..."

Nina honestly felt overwhelmed. Even staying here temporarily made her feel embarrassed.

"It’s alright," Rosen said gently. "Mother has never really given you anything before. Consider this a belated gift for our first meeting. Besides, you’re the mother of our merfolk clan’s little princess. What is something like this worth compared to that?"

And once Lex eventually married Nina... Wouldn’t all of Sea Blue City belong to Nina anyway?

Rosen squeezed her hand affectionately. "Enough. Don’t be polite with Mother."

Dian stepped beside Nina with a grin. "Nina, it’s really nothing to Mother. This is barely a drop in the ocean for her, so just accept it."

Nina finally nodded. "Alright then. Thank you, Mother."

Looks like the sea clans were seriously wealthy too.

As she looked around the palace, a faint warmth stirred in her chest.

This... This probably counted as the first real home she had ever had.

She rubbed Linny’s head fondly. "Go play. But don’t pry gemstones or crystals off the walls. If you want something, ask Mother first, and only take it if I agree, understand?"

She was genuinely worried Linny might get too excited and accidentally dismantle the palace.

Linny nodded obediently.

Got it.

The next second, he flew off excitedly to explore.

One moment, he was darting across the ceiling, the next perched atop the walls, then balancing on coral shelves, playing happily to his heart’s content.

Nina laughed helplessly and let him enjoy himself.

Aviel snorted quietly.

Is that brat already this happy over a crystal palace?

Wait until he sees the Dragon Clan’s palace someday—he’ll probably faint from excitement.

. . .

The palace’s front section served as a grand reception hall. Behind it were bedrooms, dining halls, kitchens, bathing areas, and more.

The kitchen had even been specially designed by Rosen according to Nina’s cooking habits.

Nina’s personal chambers occupied the grand central suite—the largest and most luxurious room in the palace. It contained every kind of furniture imaginable, along with a private bathroom, bathing pool, dressing room, and more.

Rooms for the beast husbands and children surrounded hers. Rosen had even prepared separate rooms for every single child.

Viann, Ridan, and the others were arranged in neighboring side palaces nearby.

Beyond the living quarters, the palace grounds also featured enormous courtyards, lush gardens, decorative pools, and even a beautiful private pond specially built for Mimi to play in.

After seeing everything, Nina couldn’t help feeling touched by Rosen’s thoughtfulness.

"Mother, thank you. I really love this palace."

Seeing Nina genuinely happy made Rosen beam with delight.

"That’s wonderful. From now on, you’re my own precious daughter. If there’s ever anything you need, just tell Mother."

She had always wanted a daughter of her own, but every child she gave birth to had been male.

Now that she had Nina, it finally felt like she truly had a daughter at last.

And now there was Mimi too.

Nina smiled softly. "Alright."

This time, she stopped trying to remain overly polite.

Only then did Rosen suddenly notice that Dian still lacked Nina’s bonding mark.

Curious, she asked, "Nina, you and Dian still haven’t bonded?"

Could it be that Dian had performed badly enough that Nina still refused to accept him?

If that were true, she fully intended to scold him thoroughly.

Nina quickly explained the matter involving Dian’s merfolk pearl.

After listening, Rosen cast Dian an approving look.

"That’s what he should’ve done. It’s fine—absorbing ocean energy is very fast."

To die for one’s female lord was only natural for a male.

Then Rosen looked at Nina with outright admiration. "Nina, you’re incredible! You actually met the Beast God."

Her eyes sparkled with gossip-filled curiosity. "Nina, what did the Beast God look like? Was he handsome? Was he male or female?"

"The form he showed me was male," Nina replied. "But I never saw his face. He kept it covered."

Rosen immediately looked disappointed. "The Beast God is that mysterious? He even hides his face?"

Personally, she felt if the Beast God was male, he was probably extremely handsome.

Nina shook her head lightly. "I don’t know either. Maybe he just didn’t want to be recognized."

"Maybe." Rosen quickly let the matter go and instead picked up a piece of coral nearby.

"Nina, this is coral from the deep sea. It’s incredibly beautiful underwater. After you’ve rested for a couple days, we’ll take the children down into the ocean to play. I’ll show you the underwater palace too."

The merfolk could create protective air bubbles that allowed land beastfolk to survive underwater temporarily.

However, the bubbles needed constant maintenance and careful protection, making long stays underwater impractical.

Nina smiled. "Alright."

She remembered Lex mentioning that their sacred artifact rested beneath the sea. Getting used to the ocean environment beforehand sounded like a good idea.

The children immediately became excited upon hearing they would soon be playing in the ocean.

Mother is taking us to the sea! Yay!
