Chapter 1419: The Grand Finale (Part 5)
The jailer was also eyeing his little head with great interest. "No wonder Luo Ke can’t bear to do anything to you. You’re this cute—if you get bitten to death by the crocodiles so soon, Luo Ke won’t have a toy to play with anymore." "Don’t worry, I’ll be good and stay put. Just remember to bring me food. I eat three bowls at a time." The little boy god had zero intention of dieting right now; he needed food so he could turn into Superman.
"Mm, mm, okay." The jailer laughed and pulled open the heavy prison door for them.
With a clang, in the absence of any light, it was pitch-black inside. Their feet touched the ground; it was all wet, not even a straw mat.
In a place like this, if you don’t starve to death, you’ll freeze to death. Who knew what kind of person could endure and stay alive here. Seeing how it looked like his death date was near, Anthony’s eyes turned red.
The Second Monkey said, "Shh."
Anthony clamped his own mouth shut. He seemed to hear movement from the crocodiles next door, and his whole body practically collapsed to the floor. Zhuang Haoran rushed to support him, but he didn’t have much strength either. Wa Zicong came over to help.
At this moment the jailer shut the door and snapped on the heavy lock. After the jailer walked away, the Second Monkey said, "I meant, there’s someone sleeping here, don’t wake them up."
Huh? Anthony couldn’t quite make the switch from terror to delight. There was actually someone else here, and alive? Did that mean they also had hope?
In the darkness, a pair of eyes had apparently already been watching them, sizing them up one by one. Finally, they landed on the Second Monkey’s face and said, "You’re Xiao Yebai’s son?" It was a man’s voice.
The few new prisoners swallowed hard, not knowing whether this person was good or bad, friend or foe. After all, for all they knew, even inside prison there were all sorts of conflicts.
The Second Monkey took small steps over, reached out his two little hands, and groped around for something in the dark. From his movements, everyone guessed he was feeling the man’s face.
The man was very patient, letting this little kid feel him all over and remaining still as a rock.
"You’re Uncle Seven, right? Dad said you have a little mole between your brows." The Second Monkey nodded his little head and said it with certainty.
Hearing the child’s words, the eyes that had been calm and still as dead water suddenly rippled with a faint sign of life. A pair of hands then pulled the small body in front of him into an embrace and asked, "Cold?"
"Not cold," the Second Monkey said, his small hand feeling the man’s body. "You’ve got clothes on."
"Smells awful, doesn’t it?"
"No, smells great."
Xiaoqi pinched his little nose. "Just like your dad—raised a sweet mouth."
"My dad talks nasty. I talk way nicer than him."
That line finally made Xiaoqi burst out laughing. "You’re right, your dad’s got a poisonous mouth."
Now that they were sure their cellmate wasn’t an enemy, the others sat down as well, though they still had no idea what to do. Because they heard the Second Monkey drop a bombshell next: "Uncle Seven, you’ve been here for three years, right?"
"Yeah." With just him alone and no other brothers to scheme with, there was no way to get out. And to keep him from escaping like last time, those people were never going to fall for his tricks again and had simply locked him up in here.
"Uncle Seven, can I ask you something?" the Second Monkey suddenly whispered. The child’s voice softened everyone’s hearts.
Xiaoqi didn’t even think about it. "Go ahead." As long as the Second Monkey wanted to pluck stars, he’d be willing to help him get them.
The Second Monkey said, "My older cousin, for so many years, I heard she hasn’t gotten married because she can’t find her mom. Does Uncle Seven know if her mom is here?"
