Chapter 692: Date With Lavinia [Part 1]
Chapter 692: Date With Lavinia [Part 1]
"So this is what the Elven Capital is like..." Lavinia couldn’t help but gawk at the surroundings like a country bumpkin as she and Alex strolled hand in hand around the city. "It’s very different from the cities I have seen in the Kingdom of Avalon."
Alex nodded in agreement. Elven architecture was vastly different from human architecture since they focused more on the natural aesthetic of things.
However, this didn’t mean that their buildings weren’t safe and sound. In fact, it was very sturdy and even enhanced with Earth and Nature Magic to ensure it wouldn’t collapse even if they were hit by an earthquake.
A few minutes later, they arrived at the famous water garden of Everdawn.
Alex and Lavinia walked across a bridge, admiring the giant floating lilies in the water.
They even saw some fairies resting on these lilies while chatting happily with each other.
This reminded Alex that the fairies of Frieden Academy had also accompanied them on this trip.
Doh even said that she was already "dying" to see Alex’s performance, which she believed would make everyone lose their minds.
She wasn’t alone in this thought. All the fairies were looking forward to Alex’s singing, highly interested at the thought of watching the world burn around them.
They even made sure to prepare popcorn!
"Dim!"
Dim Dim suddenly jumped off Alex’s head and landed on one of the lilies floating in the water.
After the little bun landed safely, it began a game of jumping over the lilies happily.
This made the fairies giggle. Some even followed Dim Dim as it hopped from one lily to another.
Even the elves looked amused as they watched the little bun have a good time playing with the lilies.
"It makes you want to jump too, doesn’t it?" Alex glanced at Lavinia, whose tail was swaying behind her back while watching Dim Dim’s escapade.
"Right." Lavinia admitted. "Dim Dim really is a bundle of happiness."
Alex nodded. "Yes. Very much so."
The two watched the little bun for a few more minutes as it played a game of tag with the fairies.
Since they deemed that Dim Dim would be playing for a little while longer, they crossed the bridge to the other side and sat on one of the benches overlooking the water garden.
Alex noticed that there were other elven couples around them. Clearly, the water garden was one of the popular dating spots in the city, which Alex had already known beforehand.
This was also the reason why he decided to take Lavinia to this place as their first stop on their date.
"You know, if I never left the Clawford Tribe, perhaps I’d never see beautiful places like this," Lavinia said softly. "I would have been stuck in that small world, thinking it was fine to never leave the village. But now, I understand that doing so might have prevented me from experiencing new things.
"Maybe, this is also the reason why my brother is traveling to hone his swordsmanship. He must’ve wanted to experience many things and see different sights before returning to the Clawford Tribe and apply what he had learned."
The young lady then rested her head on Alex’s shoulder while giving his hand a light squeeze.
"If not for you, I wouldn’t have left the village," Lavinia said. "So you better take responsibility for me."
"I will," Alex replied without hesitation. "I promise."
"I also apologize for my arrogance in the past."
"It’s already in the past. Also, the Lavinia I first met is also a very charming individual. You were oozing with confidence. Frankly, it suited you very much."
"More like oozing with ignorance. You do realize that if you hadn’t come with us to the dungeon, I might not be standing here today, right?" Lavinia asked softly.
Sometimes, she would dream about that battle against the mutant spider and wake up drenched in sweat.
It was no exaggeration to say that without Alex’s help, none of the Catkins would have survived.
She wouldn’t have survived, and her dream would’ve come to an end in that place.
Lavinia even believed she could have turned into a vengeful ghost inside the dungeon, powered by regret from the many unfulfilled dreams she failed to achieve.
"There’s no use talking about what-ifs and what-might-have-beens," Alex said before kissing Lavinia’s head. "I’m glad you’re by my side. You’re so cute, Lavinia."
The young lady’s face reddened after the unexpected praise from Alex.
Still, she raised her head to look at him with a smile.
A moment later, the two of them shared a quick peck on the lips, which lasted only a second.
Both of them didn’t want to show excessive displays of public affection at the moment. Their fellow students might see them in the garden, and dealing with the consequences was troublesome.
"Bye bye!" Dim Dim waved at the fairies who played with him for nearly half an hour.
"Bye bye, Dim Dim!"
"Play with us again!"
"Let me poke your cheeks again next time!"
""We’ll be waiting!""
The fairies also waved at the little bun that had a big smile on its face. Clearly, it enjoyed its playing time, and only wished that Daisy and Rex were there to play with him.
After bidding goodbye to its new friends, Dim Dim jumped high and landed on Alex’s head.
"Time to go?" Alex asked.
"Dim!" Dim Dim nodded.
Lavinia giggled and they once again resumed their city tour.
Although it was still a little early, Alex took Lavinia and Dim Dim to one of the famous cafes in Everdawn.
There, they ordered the special parfait filled with special ingredients that could only be found in the Elven Kingdom.
"Wow, this is so delicious," Lavinia said in surprise. "It’s not too sweet, and you can really taste the explosion of flavors inside your mouth. Is this some kind of berry?"
"Yes, it’s an Elven Berry called Red Bell," Alex replied. "Can you see it? It looks like a little red bell, right?"
"Indeed." Lavinia nodded. "Do you think we can buy them in bulk and take them back home?"
"Let’s visit the night market later," Alex proposed. "There will be many interesting things that will be sold there."
"I can’t wait." Lavinia smiled happily.
Dim Dim was also very happy because it also got a parfait of its own.
The little bun scooped it with its little spoon and sighed after taking each bite.
The three weren’t aware that a couple of Fox Ladies were secretly following them from behind.
Of course, they made sure to use disguise magic so Alex and Lavinia wouldn’t notice them.
They were none other than Latifa and her Alters, who were making sure that no one would disturb Alex and Lavinia’s date.
Although they felt a little envious, none of them felt jealous.
They knew that Alex would also treat them kindly in the next few days, which prompted Latifa to prepare her heart and body for the possibility of becoming one with Alex.
Although she wasn’t ready, the girl in her dream told her that if Latifa lowered her guard, then she would take advantage of the opportunity and steal Alex from her.
’That thieving cat,’ Latifa thought. ’Just who does she think she is? Steal Alex? Over my dead body.’
That was something Latifa wouldn’t allow to happen no matter what. She vowed to protect Alex not only in reality, but in his dreams as well.
