Chapter 632: Atlas Found New Entertainment
Chapter 632: Atlas Found New Entertainment
The three assassins moved carefully around the God Gym base because they had no idea what could happen here.
They kept their bodies low, hiding between broken rocks and twisted black trees. Soon, their leader raised one hand. "Stop."
The other two stopped immediately.
All three of them looked ahead.
In front of them was a wide training field filled with strange equipment, even weirder than what they had seen before.
There were also several empty paths that looked completely harmless.
But after seeing God Gym’s training area, they could not believe that anything here was actually harmless.
The first assassin narrowed his eyes. "Which path do we take?"
The second assassin looked around. "The left one seems clear."
The leader frowned. "Too clear."
The first assassin clicked his tongue. "Then the right one?"
The leader stared for a moment before nodding. "Right side. Move quietly."
The three assassins then began to slowly walk toward the right side.
But the moment their feet touched the floor...
CLICK.
All three froze.
"...Did you hear that?" one assassin whispered.
The ground beneath them suddenly lit up with faint silver lines.
High above them, Atlas floated with his arms crossed, a wicked smile slowly appearing on his tiny face.
[Oh, this is going to be fun.]
Atlas was not only Garion’s system companion.
During the construction of the temporary base, he had helped stabilize the structures, arrange the energy lines, control several defensive fields, and connect the training zones together.
In simple words, inside this base, Atlas had partial control.
And right now, the three unlucky assassins had basically walked into his toy box.
Atlas snapped his fingers.
BOOM!
The gravity under the assassins suddenly multiplied.
"Ugh!"
The first assassin dropped to one knee.
The second assassin’s face smashed into the ground.
The leader barely stayed standing, but his legs trembled violently. "What the hell?!"
Atlas laughed silently above them.
[Warm-up.]
Then he waved his hand again.
The gravity disappeared completely.
The three assassins suddenly shot upward because they had pushed too hard against the pressure.
"Ah?!"
Before they could recover, a sideways wind barrier activated.
WHOOSH!
The wind slammed into them like a giant invisible hand and threw them across the training field.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
They crashed into a pile of soft training mats, and for a moment, they lay there in silence.
The first assassin slowly lifted his head. "Soft?"
Just after he said that, the mat beneath him suddenly opened.
Then all three of them dropped directly into a mud pit.
SPLASH!
The other two stared.
The leader’s face twitched. "This is a trap base."
The second assassin swallowed. "No... this is worse."
Above them, Atlas held his stomach while laughing.
[Correct. This is a gym.]
The leader gritted his teeth. "Forget stealth! Move fast! Find the target!"
He charged forward, and the other two quickly followed.
But Atlas did not let them go.
[Stage two.]
A row of heavy training chains suddenly shot out from the ground and wrapped around their ankles.
The three assassins fell forward at the same time.
BANG!
Their faces hit the dirt, and the chains dragged them backward like fish caught on hooks.
"Damn it!"
"Cut the chains!"
"I’m trying!"
The leader’s blade flashed, but before he could cut anything, the gravity sled behind them activated.
The chains connected to the sled.
Then, when the sled began moving, the three of them were dragged around the field mercilessly.
Their bodies scraped across dirt, stone, and training sand.
The first assassin screamed, "Why is a training sled attacking us?!"
The second assassin shouted, "This base is alive!"
Atlas floated beside them, invisible and smug.
[Not alive. Just supervised by someone very bored.]
The leader roared and finally released a burst of energy, breaking the chains apart.
The three assassins jumped back to their feet, panting heavily.
Their stealth was basically gone. Their clothes were dirty, and their faces were covered in mud.
The leader’s eyes were bloodshot. "Who’s doing this?!"
Atlas slowly descended in front of him, still invisible to their eyes.
Then he smiled.
[Me.]
SNAP.
The ground beneath them opened again.
The moment they looked down, their expressions stiffened.
"Not again..."
They fell.
SPLASH!
This time, they landed inside a freezing recovery pool.
From inside the base, Garion turned over in his sleep and muttered, "Five more minutes..."
Atlas looked toward him, then back at the assassins.
His grin became even brighter.
[Good. He’s still asleep.]
[That means I can keep playing.]
---
The next morning, Garion finally woke up.
He stretched lazily on his bed, yawned, and scratched his head. "Damn... I slept pretty well."
After washing his face, he walked out of the temporary base while still half-awake.
Then he stopped.
Not far from the training field, three unknown people were tied together with heavy training chains.
Their bodies were covered in mud, frost, bruises, and training sand. Their clothes were torn, their faces were swollen, and all three of them had passed out with miserable expressions.
Garion stared at the three unconscious strangers silently and muttered, "Who the hell are these guys?"
Atlas appeared beside his shoulder, floating with a satisfied expression.
[Assassins.]
Garion blinked. "Assassins?"
[Yes. They came last night.]
Garion looked at the three again. "For what?"
Atlas smiled.
[To take your head.]
Garion’s face went blank. "My head?"
[Your head.]
Garion frowned. "Who did I provoke this time?"
Atlas slowly turned his head and stared at him, rolling his eyes.
[A lot of people.]
Garion clicked his tongue. "Be specific."
Atlas crossed his arms.
[After Dahlia’s tournament announcement, God Gym became famous. You are the owner. Fame attracts customers, investors, spies, idiots, and people with killing intent.]
Garion rubbed his chin. "Oh yeah..."
Then he paused. "But don’t they usually target Dahlia? After all, she was the one who announced it. Why target me instead of her?"
Atlas shrugged.
[I don’t know. Maybe because you’re the trainer.]
Garion’s eyebrow twitched. "Damn."
He looked at the three tied-up assassins again.
One of them twitched slightly in his sleep, as if he was still dreaming about being dragged around by the gravity sled.
Garion sighed. "Fine. Let’s ask them."
Atlas grinned.
[Good. I kept them alive for that.]
Garion glanced at him. "You sound way too happy."
Atlas smiled innocently.
[They were entertaining.]
Garion shook his head and walked toward the assassins. "Wake them up."
