Chapter 2261: Avatar
Chapter 2261: Avatar
"Divine realm has been unlocked."
"Avatar function has been unlocked."
"Please create your first avatar."
I was completely caught off guard when these notifications appeared on the screen in front of me.
But it wasn’t hard for me to figure out what was happening since I had this screen. I knew more about this world than most people did, so it was easy for me to put everything together.
Percival’s death wasn’t a natural one.
Rather, it was because he ascended that he had suddenly died.
His physical form wasn’t able to take the divine energy that had gathered inside of it and had died of natural causes because of it.
But it wasn’t as if I could tell Percival this.
It was better to let him think that he had died of natural causes unless he figured it out himself.
Once I had calmed down, I pressed the button on the notification and started creating the avatar as advised. However, there was a wry smile that appeared on my face seeing the avatar that was provided for me.
It was nothing more than a figure of light.
But the reason that I had this reaction was because it was the same as the gods that I had met in the divine realm. Though the difference was that there wasn’t a body that was hidden by the light.
Unlike those gods that wrapped their bodies up in light, this avatar was nothing more than light.
So even if Percival or any future demigods were to ascend to the throne of god, it wasn’t as if they would be able to see through this figure of light to see any real forms.
Still, at least this was another way of interacting with this world.
At the same time, it was a way that I would be able to watch gods ascending firsthand.
This trial that they had arranged for me was something that was teaching me all kinds of things about the gods and in particular, the God of Destruction.
For me, the goal had already completely changed.
"If I can learn enough about the God of Destruction, perhaps I can solve this in a different way."
After all, there was no telling what the gods had planned for me and I didn’t want to follow their plan. I wanted to see if I could even bring the God of Destruction to my side just in case.
Once the avatar was finished, it was sent down to meet Percival and answered the questions that he had. However, that wasn’t the only thing that I did with this avatar.
Since I had a way to directly interact with this world now, I let myself enter the avatar completely and explore this new divine realm. I had also wanted to explore the mortal realm with this avatar, but the same thing happened where I was stopped from entering the mortal world.
When I tried to descend, there was this barrier that stopped me just like what happened with Percival.
So that was why I could only explore this divine realm.
"There’s nothing here at all."
This was the one thing that this divine realm had in common with the divine realm that I had seen in the other world. However, I knew that the divine realm in the other world wouldn’t be like this.
It was just that part of the divine realm was designed in a way that prevented me from seeing the real divine realm.
So there should be more to this divine realm...
But it really didn’t seem like there was a single thing.
The power that my avatar could use was quite extensive, so I was able to explore the entire divine realm quite easily.
To begin with, this divine realm wasn’t that big since the world itself wasn’t that big.
The form that the divine realm took was like a layer that was placed on top of the world itself. Though whether this was the same as the divine realm in the other world was not something that I was aware of.
Once I reached the edges of the divine realm with the avatar, I found that there was some kind of barrier that was there that prevented me from going any further. In fact, there was something that prevented me from seeing outside of the divine realm borders.
It was almost as if there was something that was being hidden there.
No matter how I tried to break through, I just wasn’t able to break through these borders at all.
But there was one thing that I did figure out.
This divine realm that had been formed, it wasn’t as if there wasn’t a base to it. There was something that was being used as the base to create the divine realm.
After moving around it for a bit, I was able to acclimatize myself to this place.
"It’s divine energy."
This should have been something that was obvious, but it was still a significant discovery when I realized this.
This world shouldn’t have had enough divine energy to create a place like this since there weren’t any gods here to begin with. So the only thing that was possible was that this divine realm was created in the first place and prepared for when gods appeared.
It was created by the ones that had created this entire world.
But the fact that the divine realm could be created just meant that...
"So the divine realm is nothing more than an amalgamation of divine energy, something that’s created when gods appear in a world. It’s something that they have to support and also supports them."
The more that I thought about it, the more that it felt like the divine realm was nothing more than a place for training for the gods. It was something that they were using to gather divine energy for themselves and make themselves stronger by absorbing that divine energy.
It really put into perspective just what the gods were.
