Villains Act Shamelessly: The Heiress was the Great National Master!

Chapter 334: Changing Phone Number

Chapter 334: Changing Phone Number

Even a clay figure has some temper.

Let alone someone like Thea Shaw.

She could temporarily tolerate Yvonne Lane deceiving her for money without going to the police, as a final courtesy for their childhood friendship.

But what Yvonne did was purely unethical.

She says the phone isn’t important, and maybe it isn’t, but getting debt collection calls daily, wouldn’t it drive you nuts?

No matter the feelings, they were forced away; Thea first hung up the call, put her phone on silent, and decided to deal with it after dinner.

Seeing her look unhappy, Chloe Shaw asked, "What happened? Why do you look upset?"

Thea didn’t hide it and explained Yvonne Lane’s situation.

Upon hearing this, even Lauren Blair, who had not considered urging her to call the police earlier, couldn’t help but say, "Is she insane? Who scams like that? You had such a good relationship with her growing up, but this is too much! Call the police, call them quickly. If you’re harassed every day, or if debt collectors show up at your door, how can you live like that?"

"They won’t show up at the door; she doesn’t know my address, though I might need to change my phone number."

Yvonne might have told the creditors her phone number and might even have given her phone information to loan companies.

This issue must have arisen recently, as classmates are just now reporting it to the police; otherwise, Yvonne would have been caught by now.

Chloe scolded, "Is she out of her mind? I still remember her, Yvonne, right? She was so well-behaved when she was young, but how did she end up like this?"

It seems everyone remembers her, meaning Yvonne truly was well-behaved as a child, making this drastic change bewildering.

Mr. Shaw listened silently but then said after a while, "I think I heard her dad mention that Yvonne didn’t do anything else, just got addicted to gambling, and put a lot of money into it. Her parents covered a few hundred thousand for her, but she didn’t listen to them, and now they’ve cut ties. Did she even borrow money from you?"

"How does a perfectly good kid get addicted to gambling?"

Lauren Blair was incredulous, "Gambling is so ruinous, and she dared to touch it!"

Chloe was also shocked, "Got into gambling? No wonder. We had a colleague at our company whose family was doing well, owned several properties. Got trapped into gambling, lost millions in Macau overnight, went back to gamble more, and lost billions over time, losing house, cars, everything, and only regretted it after being jailed."

Listening to this, Mr. Shaw and Lauren Blair were amazed, and Yvonne only lost hundreds of thousands, incomparable to the billions lost by the colleague.

But that colleague, who had much better financial support, ended up that way, so much less help for Yvonne without that support.

The enjoyable meal was somewhat spoiled by this incident, as Thea’s phone number, used for many years, and originally from her hometown, would probably need changing because of Yvonne.

She had just set her phone to silent and had three missed calls, two from unknown numbers, and one from Landon Ford.

What a hassle.

Who knows how many creditors Yvonne got involved with; she had just borrowed money, then immediately sold Thea’s phone number, truly inexcusable.

After dinner, Thea went straight to the police. She didn’t personally pursue Yvonne’s whereabouts, but once reported, Yvonne likely wouldn’t escape.

She went to the telecom provider and bought a new local SIM card, changed her phone number, and then returned Landon Ford’s call.
