Chapter 423 - 422: Don’t Go After Her
Chapter 423 - 422: Don’t Go After Her
Damian didn’t say a word and turned to walk out of the villa.
"Damian, stop right there!" Mrs. Sinclair shouted through her tears: "You are not allowed to chase after her! If you dare walk out that door today, I won’t have you as my son!"
Damian halted his steps, "You can’t catch a taxi here, I’ll send her back."
"Damian, you dare!" Mrs. Sinclair rushed forward a few steps, grabbed Damian’s arm, and cried: "Damian, even if your mother begs you, don’t go out, okay? Your brother is watching us from the heavens. Damian, I’m begging you."
"Mom." Damian’s face showed some discomfort.
On one side was family, the other was the beloved; no matter which side he chose, one would be hurt.
Bella hadn’t gone far; she was waiting on the asphalt road outside the villa.
When Bea drove back, she saw her standing by the roadside and stopped the car in confusion.
"Bella, what are you doing standing here? Where’s my brother?" Bea rolled down the window and asked, sticking her head out.
"Bea." Bella seemed to see a savior, and hurriedly stepped forward, "Damian is still at home, I... I had to come out first."
"You don’t look well, did something happen?" Bea opened the car door, "It’s cold outside, get in the car first."
"Thank you." Bella hesitated for a moment before getting in the car.
"What happened after all?" Bea looked at her.
Bella pressed her lips tightly, unsure of how to explain what just happened.
Mrs. Sinclair’s attitude had a complete change after seeing the photo in her necklace. Bella could guess that the change was related to her parents, but she wasn’t sure exactly why.
Bella hadn’t decided how to phrase it when Bea’s phone rang first.
Bea had tossed her phone on the seat, she looked at the caller ID, "It’s my brother." Then she answered.
"Where are you now?" Damian’s voice came from the other end.
"Right outside the house." Bea glanced at Bella, who was looking expectantly beside her, and said: "Bella is also here with me."
Damian was silent for a moment on the other end, then said: "Give the phone to Bella."
"Okay, wait a moment." Bea handed the phone over.
Bella took the phone, "Damian."
"Yeah." Damian paused, then said: "Go back first, I’ll contact you later."
"Okay." Bella tightened her grip on the phone and softly asked: "Is Auntie still angry?"
"I’ll persuade her." Damian seemed to hesitate for a moment before saying: "Do you know about your parents’ identities?"
"Auntie’s anger really has something to do with my parents, right?" Bella took a deep breath, "I only found out where my parents are recently, I didn’t know before."
"Yeah." Damian said: "Go back first, wait for my call."
"Okay."
"Pass the phone back to Bea."
Bella handed the phone over to Bea, who took it, "Bro, what’s going on?"
"It’s hard to explain in a few words, just send Bella back first." Damian asked: "How is she feeling?"
"A bit shaken." Bea replied, "I’ll send her back to the apartment first."
"Okay, don’t ask her questions, and don’t upset her." Damian said: "Just make sure she gets home."
"Got it, do you think I’m stupid or something? Hanging up now." Bea ended the call, then said: "Bella, my brother told me to take you home first. Don’t overthink it, he’s definitely on your side."
