Chapter 437 - 436: He Chose to Push Her Away
Damian Sinclair looked at her slightly furrowed brow and reached out to tap her forehead.
"Damian, what’s taking you so long?" Mrs. Sinclair walked over gracefully in her high heels and saw Damian just standing in the public area of the restroom, so she softly asked.
"I’ll be right back." Damian looked up to protect Bella Acker in his arms, turning his back on Mrs. Sinclair as he walked out.
Archer Quinn saw him come out and turned his head to look over.
"I have something to deal with here. You take her to sober up," Damian said. "Don’t do anything while she’s drunk, the consequences are not something you can handle. If you truly like her, I don’t mind if you pursue her openly."
Archer glanced at Mrs. Sinclair standing behind them, then turned back with a hint of a mocking smile, "You surely know that her heart and eyes only have you, that’s why you dare to say such confident words, right?"
Damian gave him a look and did not answer.
Archer reached out to take Bella and continued, "If you can’t even handle matters at home, I think you should give up on her sooner rather than later, to not make her continue to suffer like this. By the way, Mr. Sinclair, one should not be so selfish. You may not feel the pain, but I do."
Archer always came across as gentle and refined, rarely showing such obvious sarcasm and with such a forceful tone.
After speaking, he glanced again at Mrs. Sinclair, who had furrowed her brow, half-hugged Bella, and supported her as they left.
Watching them leave, Damian clenched his fist suddenly.
Mrs. Sinclair said from behind, "Damian, that was Bella Acker, wasn’t it?"
Damian turned back, "Yes."
Hearing him admit it, Mrs. Sinclair got anxious, "Damian, didn’t you promise me that you would break up with her? Why are you seeing her again?"
"Mom, I never promised to break up with her." Damian looked at her, "But I will handle this properly. I don’t want to make you uncomfortable, and I don’t want to make her uncomfortable either."
"How could I not be uncomfortable?" Mrs. Sinclair’s eyes suddenly turned red, "Just thinking of your brother is like having a piece of my heart ripped out. That’s my son; how can I not be in pain?"
"I’m also your son!" Damian suddenly blurted out, his tone full of suppressed agitation.
Mrs. Sinclair was stunned, looking at him in disbelief.
From childhood to adulthood, this younger son had a somewhat reticent character but was always undeniably good to his family and had never raised his voice at her. But today, for the daughter of an enemy, he actually shouted impatiently at her.
Mrs. Sinclair’s eyes reddened, tears welling up immediately. She glanced at Damian, covered her mouth, and turned to leave quickly.
Damian raised his hand to rub his forehead and then stepped forward to follow her.
Archer Quinn had booked another private room in the restaurant, supporting Bella as she went in to rest.
An assistant brought over some glucose, and Archer opened the door to take it in, only to find Bella leaning on the sofa, already awake.
"Bella, feeling a bit sober?" Archer approached, twisted open the glucose, and brought it to her, softly saying, "Here, drink a little."
"Senior Quinn, thank you." Bella took the glucose but didn’t drink it. Earlier, she was only dizzy and not truly asleep; she heard Mrs. Sinclair’s voice in her daze, and her heart tensed up not knowing what to do, so she pretended to sleep. At the same time, she was also a little hopeful about what Damian would do.
Instead... he chose to push her away.
Bella’s fingers gripping the glucose suddenly tightened, tears welled up in her eyes again.
